Out With The Gold In With The New : Bahama Breeze Built On The Site Of The Old Solid Gold

Out With The Gold

The Solid Gold club in Oakland Park before it was demolished.

Solid Gold Gentlemen’s Club was first located on the site of Chick-Fil-A on Federal Highway near 26th St (I wonder what the Chick-Fil-A’s southern Baptist founder would think of that?!). The City of Fort Lauderdale closed all strip clubs and Solid Gold disappeared from Federal Highway.

Years later it reopened on Federal Highway just north of Oakland Park Blvd in the City of Oakland Park. The club remained there until a couple of years ago when its license expired and the City sent it packing. Solid Gold up and moved to Pompano where it has re-opened an ultra-luxurious 10 million dollar mega-club complete with a Sky Lounge.

Bahama Breeze now stand on the former site of Solid Gold Gentleman’s Club.

On the site of the old gold, Darden restaurants just completed the building of the 12,000+ square foot Bahama Breeze Island Grille, their Caribbean inspired restaurant. The restaurant’s addition to Oakland Park’s strip along Federal Highway is more in tune with the City’s move toward being a center of culinary culture.

Outfitted to seat nearly 400 guests, both inside and outside, Bahama Breeze will serve up over 70 Caribbean creations. Menu items include buttermilk chicken jibaritos, lobster and shrimp quesadillas, jerk shrimp, braised short rib and oxtail, seafood paella, and more tame comfort creations such as burgers and salads. To quench your thirst, the Breeze offers 28 different Caribbean cocktails including 5 different variations of the famous Cuban mojito.

Bahama Breeze will officially open for business in Fort Lauderdale on January 28, 2019.

Bahama Breeze is located at 3339 N Federal Hwy, Oakland Park, FL 33306. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Happy Hour is from 4-6pm Monday through Friday.  For more information visit the restaurant’s website at BahamaBreeze.com.
